BEACH VOLLEYBALL

11th European Universities Beach Volleyball Championship

 

According to the experiences from the EUG 2016 we are expecting around 100 students to participate on the tournament. Main reason is the limited number of courts. Thanks to European universities championship 2017 city of Split will have great legacy of 4 brand new courts od Znjan beach. This new courts will not only benefit university sport, students and children, but sports clubs of Beach volleyball, Beach handball and Beach futsal.

 

The organization of the EUC Beach Volleyball shall be mainly based on the most recent Technical Regulations of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV).

 

Team Tournaments:
• 1 (one) men’s tournament, maximum of 20 (twenty) teams
• 1 (one) women’s tournament, maximum of 20 (twenty) teams

SPORT VENUES

 

Beach volleyball competition will be held on the most visited beach in Split, located on the east side of the city. Znjan is the most populous beach which is located 4 km from the city centre but only 1.3 km from participant’s accommodation.


As mentioned above 4 new courts for this occasion will be built on beach Znjan. Three connected fields together with one central court and spectator’s area will garnish this beach. The system of competition will be mostly the same as on EUG 2016. Construction is expected to start on early spring.

 

training 

Training facilities for all participants will be provided at KOP Znjan (Znjan, Split) only 150 meters distance from new courts.




There are two courts for trainings and training schedule will be provided for all teams throughout the championship. Quality and quantity of changing rooms and showers (men and women) is guaranteed.
Transport will be arranged by buses on daily schedule.

Beach Volleyball competition shall be mainly based on the most recent Technical Regulations of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV).


All participating teams will receive two sets of playing kits upon arrival. Official ball is Mikasa VLS 300.
